Beacons Festival 2014 Ads #1

If the latest Beacons Festival announcements weren't exciting enough on their own, some of the pictures I've taken there over the past two years (2012 and 2013) are being featured in a bunch of places over the coming months. These two were used over the last few days and are currently everywhere which is pretty cool! There are also posters, flyers, a Crack magazine ad and a billboard(!!!) on the way in April and May.

The face of Louis Tuckman might be making an appearance somewhere as part of these upcoming announcements and ad campaigns, further reinforcing my opinion that he should just be adopted as Leeds' cultural mascot, so keep an eye out for that face and, of course, future lineup announcements!

A Wild and Beautiful Silly Wizard

(The Newington Health Care Centre is the building in which I was born. It was called something else then and didn't look like a giant alien coffee machine but it would have been cool if it did.)

"Strangely Strange" Mix

These annuals initially started life as a series of zines of irreverent and diaristic photos that were produced every few months and dubbed "visual mixtapes".

The zines were an exercise in photographing as a visual diary to revisit and resequence later. They were my visual equivalent to the aural mixes that develop alongside each of my more long-term projects. The zines have now become print-on-demand annuals - a yearly mix of visual trends and influences, memories and experiences.
