'Leaving The Building' Mixtapes

One week from today (on Friday 30th May) I will be touring the south west in the back of a mobile library, selling mixtapes and doing some DJing.

The library will be making stops in Bristol (Spike Island), Newport (The Riverfront) and Cardiff (Chapter Gallery), finishing up at the University of South Wales Atrium with a DJ set from me between 7.15pm til 9pm.

This is for the book launch of this year's BA (hons) Photographic Art degree show publication, Leaving the Building, which I spent most of April and a slither of May editing and contributing an essay to.

Above are a few of the 50 handmade mixtapes that are to accompany the exhibition. Oliver Norcott has designed them, I compiled the sounds (90 minutes in length) and put them together. It's taken forever but they look well nice. The mix is inspired by the theme of the exhibition as well as some of the works on display. They'll be available in the mobile library for £5 along with the publication itself (also a fiver), so why not come along and get pied pipered by me and see some photography and read some things and listen to some tunes about leaving places.

I'll also be DJing an after party somewhere on the night of June 5th after the actual degree show itself at the City Campus in Newport, but for the moment the details of that are a bit of a mystery.

Both the mixtapes and the publication will be available for listening, reading and downloading online after the event, but that's no excuse not to come down, you lazy.
