1966 - 1968
I've always known that my Dad's parents liked taking pictures. I have to pose for at least a dozen with my cousins every time I went up to Sunderland to see them. Also, their front room is crammed with photo albums. It was only last year, when doing a project on 'The Family Album' at university, that I actually looked at any of them. There are probably tens of thousands of photographs in that house.
They recently found a box of slides and had them scanned and digitalised. Yesterday they gave me a copy on disc as well as the original slides. There are a lot of photos - around 1,500 taken between 1966 and 1981 - so I'm going to go through them and occasionally post a selection of the ones I like or think are interesting from a certain time period.
Sunderland
I went up north to Sunderland to see my grandparents yesterday. My cousin had a son, Jack, just as I went to university. I met him once when he was very young, but in just over a year he has changed a lot! So here are some gratuitous pictures of the little man, along with some things that were lying around.
I think as I get older I bring back stranger and stranger things from Sunderland. I remember when it just used to be foreign money, strange stamps and back issues of the National Geographic. Yesterday I brought back a leather briefcase, 1500 film slides from 1966 to 1981 (more on them later), and a butterfish in a test tube of formaldehyde ...

So far, the few posts on there are duplicates of ones that were originally posted on here. Over the coming months that'll no doubt change and there'll be exclusively on that blog, with personal photographs still here and more reportage type stuff over there.
So yeah. Watch that space --> http://uwnphotoart.blogspot.co.uk/

Easter - Week One
Finally went back to Hull for the Easter break and Katie came to stay for a few days so we had a bunch of adventures. Also finally used up the last of my rolls of film which I bought in bulk at Christmas so there'll be some film scans in a week or two as well.
